Survey Update 1

To date, we have had 146 responses to our community playground survey with overwhelming support for a new community playground! Please feel free to continue to spread the word about the survey by sharing this link: https://bit.ly/BathAtPlay. The survey will remain live until we start funding.

I want to give some updates on this project and let you know where we stand. I had the opportunity to present to the Community Development Committee on 6/15/22 on this project proposal and the results of the survey. It was a very productive meeting and my presentation resulted in close to an hour of discussion on the project and the overall need for new play space in Bath.

I went into the presentation looking for City input on what the next steps would be for this project. To answer this question, the committee felt the need to reconvene at the next monthly meeting (July 20) with a task to come up with suitable sites in town for a playground. I got the sense that they agreed with the community's sentiments that a new play space is long overdue in Bath. This has been a longstanding discussion for close to 20 years and everyone at the meeting agreed that the time has come to do something. I hope to have more answers after the next meeting in July.

In the meantime, I am working towards founding a non-profit organization in order to 1. accept charitable donations for this project and 2. provide long-term maintenance for the completed project site(s).

Again, I thank you for your support on this endeavor and I look forward to coming together as a community to build something great for the children of Bath and the surrounding communities!

If you have any questions, comments, concerns for me, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Warm Regards,

John Byram
