Our Mission
Bath at Play aims to empower Maine communities through dynamic and inclusive play by funding, establishing, and maintaining privately funded community play spaces for Maine’s current and future generations.
Healthy Play
Play is a fundamental component of a child’s social, cognitive, and physical development. Dynamic play spaces foster children’s confidence, self-esteem, and creativity while promoting physical activity and combating childhood obesity.
Strong Community
Community playgrounds are key to a strong community and can be the cornerstone of many lifelong friendships and ties within the neighborhood. They can address social inequities while fostering a sense of belonging within the community leading to greater community cohesion.
Why Playgrounds Matter—For Everyone
Playgrounds aren’t just for kids—they’re vital for the entire community:
· Social Connections: Playgrounds bring people of all ages together, fostering inter-generational relationships.
· Physical Health: Walking, playing, and engaging in outdoor spaces support mobility, heart health, and vitality.
· Emotional Well-being: Watching children play sparks joy and combats isolation, especially for older adults.
