End of our First Year
We hope that you are all having a very happy and play-filled holidays! Here are some end of the year updates to share with you.
Project Update: We have been working hard to progress ahead with creating additional play space in the City of Bath. We have had some very positive meetings with various people and departments at the City over the last month. We will share details when we can. Stay Tuned!
In the meantime, the City of Bath is working on their Comprehensive Plan for the next 10 years and have put out a survey and website regarding where the City should focus its efforts. Page 7 of the survey specifically asks about new playgrounds and play facilities with space for public comment. Please visit the City's website to learn more about the Comp Plan and make your voice heard with regard to playgrounds! There is also a public meeting coming up on January 24 (more info here). This will be another opportunity for community members to voice their opinions for the future of Bath. We encourage you to attend this event and take the survey.
Organization Update: Along with being accepted into the Shaw's Giving Tag Program (learn more here), Bath at Play has also been approved as an organization in the Hannaford Community Bag and Bloomin' 4 Good Programs! This means that Bath at Play may be selected as a cause to consider by store leadership at the Cook's Corner Hannaford in Brunswick for this charitable outreach.
We have also been added to the GuideStar network which allows us to become eligible for giving programs like AmazonSmile, Network for Good, and Crowdrise, among others. This process takes a few months to fully take effect and we hope to be AmazonSmile eligible in January. You can see our GuideStar profile here and will notice at the bottom of the page that we have attained the Candid Gold Transparency seal for 2022. We will send out a follow-up email once we are set-up with AmazonSmile!
We are so grateful for all of the kindness and words of support received in the last half of our founding year, as well as amazed at all the positive and educational traction we’ve made towards implementing our first projects for our dear community. Bath at Play is hopeful for the new year and its promise of opportunities for our children’s play in the coolest little city in Maine!
Thank you and Stay Playful,
John, Chris, & Adam
